NIGHTWALKER : The Rite.

Takes place directly after TFA. Rey is captured by the the First Order before mere moments before Chewie arrives to rescue she and Finn. Alone and assuming the worst about her remaining friends, Rey feels she has little choice but to comply to the wishes of Supreme Leader Snoke, undergoing her training with Kylo Ren shortly after her arrival aboard the Supremacy. The occurrences in this verse are as follows:

She is untrusted by all in the First Order, under surveillance day and night. Even as she accompanies her “master” across the galaxy, she is under suspicion. How DEEP does he loyalty of a light dweller lie? 

Her light fades within the shadows, the presence of such morbid company CONSUMING it bit by bit. Her rage festers like a wound, darkness spreading throughout her being like an illness, making her harsh and brutal until the day came that she SNAPPED.

Her mind split, lost memories returning, her family at the forefront. She is inconsolable, unable to comprehend how a name linked to the LIGHT could cast her aside and NEVER look back. It’s the first time she asks for his help. They find them together, he watches as she SLAUGHTERS THEM.

It feels good, it feels POWERFUL, it KILLS her light. She has no other choice but to give in, to receive the dark. She has their trust

She battles alongside them, fierce and beautiful. She watches the Resistance CRUMBLE ‘til she stands on an empire built atop a foundation of BONES. They find royalty amongst the wreckage, proud and passionate as her son. The very son that cannot bring himself to end her life.

Student becomes TEACHER, slave becomes MASTER. She runs Leia Organa through and steps over her corpse without a second though. She has proven her worth, proven her LOYALTY where Kylo Ren could not. 

The Supreme Leader deems her a worthy pupil and takes her under his wing. She is taught the like of which she could never comprehend, power beyond measure. Their combined will casts a shadow across the galaxy. The Sith have risen once more.

The Rite is complete.

NIGHTWALKER : SHADOW PREACHER.

Set after her training, now a Sith, Rey journeys across the galaxy for the force sensitive on Snoke’s command. They are returned to Coruscant, placed in the Jedi Temple (now returned to its former glory as a Sith Shrine) where Rey && a small handful of others train them in the arts of the Dark Side. The occurrences in this verse are as follows:

She is a queen cloaked in night, she stalks halls that WEEP dark energy from centuries past, made strong again by her master. She is the right hand of the Supreme Leader and the commander of an EMPIRE. She is feared, she is loved, she is HATED. She rules what she has been given with utter surety.

They call her the Shadow Preacher; she who treks across galaxies with beautiful, terrible sermons on the tip of her tongue. Those she seeks are given up like OFFERINGS, others come of their own accord. Most are ripped from their homes, dragged like prisoners into another world. They submit, or they DIE.

They are brought to Coruscant where they are conditioned and trained. They become Sith, Knights, or Stormtroopers. They form the beginnings of an army greater than the galaxy has ever seen.

Light becomes MYTH as darkness falls, only SPARKS remaining in an all consuming void.

MODERN.

Abandoned in the New Mexican desert at age six, Rey spent over a decade suffering at the hands of junker and drug dealer Unkar Plutt. Made to collect auto parts and other stolen contraband by any means necessary, the girl felt her hell would never come to an end until a mysterious orange & white USB drive arrived in her little town. Along with the drive crash landed a man named Finn, her companion in an adventure she could never have dreamed of. Following the plotline of The Force Awakens, Rey and her new friend embark across the US to return the information leading to Luke Skywalker, a decorated war hero with information to heal or break nations, to his sister General Leia Organa.

STRANGER THINGS.

they say bad things come in three, but  Rey  is  their  lucky  number  7  (  though LUCK  had never been on her side )  After  the  untimely  death  of  her  parents  as  an  infant  at  the  hands  of  a  terrible  Russian  Agency  known  as  The  First  Order,  Rey  was  placed  in  the  care  of  her  paternal  grandfather  &  scientist,   Ben  Kenobi.  Upon  the  discovery  of  her  brilliant  gifts,  she  was  taken  from  the  man  and  raised  in the confines of AREA 51, his  place  of  work.   Interactions  between  the  pair  were  kept  to  a  minimum in  fear  his  influence  would  sway  this  child  of  limitless  power  to  CHALLENGE  authority.  The  grueling  tests  and  endless  cycles  of  abuse  in  the  name  of RIGHTEOUSNESS  proved  too  much  for  Ben  to  bear,  when  he  discovered  what  they  were  doing  to  the  last  of  his  family.  He  spirited  her  away  into  the  desert,  tucking  her  away  where  NO  ONE  would  find  her,  promising he  would  return  when  it  was  safe  once  more.

Years  tick  by  with  no  sign  of  the  man,  &  Rey  believes  he  has  died,  if  he  had  existed  at  all.  She  lives  and  works  in  a  junkyard  owned  by  a  wretched  man  named  Plutt,  where  he  EXPLOITS the  gifts  she  was  born  with  for  personal  gain.  She  remains  HIDDEN  until  the  summer  of  her  20th  year,  when  a  gold  and  white  tape  surfaces  in  her  little  desert  town,  along  with  a  man  fleeing  from  a  FRAGMENT  of  the  very  organization  she  had  been  saved  from.  THUS HER STORY FOLLOWS THAT OF TFA & MY MODERN VERSE,  where Rey and Finn flee across the United States until they find sanctuary with General Leia Organa.

This  twist  of  events  would  paint  a  target  on  Rey’s  back,  The  First  Order  would  hunt  her  to  the  edges  of  reality  and  back  to  HARNESS her  strength.  She  refuses  let  this  shadow  keep  her  stagnant  and  confined  to  a  life  of  safety.  Especially  when  she  hears  of  OTHERS  akin  to  her  in  desperate  need  of  help.

Star Trek.

Rey's  exploration  of the galaxy eventually brings her to earth where she is so enamored with the federation that she enlists. Stationed aboard the Enterprise, she migrates throughout, offering her expertise where it is needed and gleaning information. She’s probably surrounded by porgs, tribbles and droids and NO ONE knows where they come from.

FINAL FANTASY 15.

With a story similar to that of Crowe Altius, Rey was brought up an orphan, left to wander the outskirts of Lucis until the day she was picked up by the king and made apart of the Kingsglaive. Gifted in magic beyond that of the crystal, Rey quickly rises among their rank until she is one of their most esteemed soldiers.

LORD OF THE RINGS.

Rey was abandoned in the wasteland of Harad by a family she can no longer remember, cared for by Unkar Plutt, a merchant of stolen goods until she was old enough to fend for herself. She was taught to steal, taught to KILL when necessary, && above all, taught how to survive in such an unforgivable land. 

She resides in the bones of a Oliphaunt, amongst the dunes, tucked safely away from the great roads and rivers. There are FEW amongst encompassing village that possess her tenacity, her drive, as she treks across barren plains to pillage wherever there were goods to be had. She is one of FEW that dares to venture far from sun-bitten plains into the dark north, robbing the scarce few that lurked beyond Mordor.

 Luck was NEVER one to favor the girl; for as the Haradrim marched North to the call of Sauron, Rey was captured by the mighty army && forced to fight in return for her life. She is marched across the desert, towards the northwestern lands when they are attacked slaughtered by Gondorians that lie in wait for them. In the midst of chaos, Rey makes her great escape, stumbling away from the fray unscathed. The path her weary legs take is not one to haven, but instead to Minas Morgul && into the hands of the Witch King. 

My LOTR verse is flexible and varies from person to person. This is simply my default
